Advantages of Hell

• You can do what you want. There are no rules.

Disadvantages of Hell

• Everybody else in hell can do what he/she/it wants. There are no rules.
• Some of the others in hell are spirit beings who are stronger than you.

Common Objections to Hell

• Isn't it judgmental to send people to hell?
  

  There are two answers to this:
  
  

  1. It isn't judgmental if you don't send anyone. For example, don't say, "Go to Hell," to someone who annoys you, if you don't want to be judgmental about that person.
     
     
  2. It doesn't make much sense to call a judge judgmental. If you've ever been in a courtroom, you know it doesn't help the defendant's case much. The only one who actually has the power to send anyone anywhere is the Judge at the end of the world.

• Isn't God (that Judge you are talking about) merciful?
  

  Again, two answers:
  
  

  1. He sure is! It wouldn't be very merciful to the people in heaven, to let in folks who would regard them with contempt and take advantage of them.
     
     
  2. Have you ever tried to have mercy on someone who hated you? You get victimized! Amazingly, God is even willing to be victimized by people who hate him (a big topic, beyond the scope of these pages), but not for eternity.
