I wrote A Brief Guide to Eternity in 1999, as an exercise in web site design, and to teach myself HTML (the code in which web pages are written). I did not know what topic to put in my web site, and one of my sons suggested I write about something that interested me.
For some reason, life after death is very interesting to me. A Brief Guide to Eternity expresses some of my own ideas about it, cast in the shape of a web site. It is not intended as instruction, although I used to be a teacher. Nor is it definitive, or authoritative, or official, and so on. A Catholic priest told me once that the Brief Guide was amusing and thought provoking. I was very pleased with his comment, as something like that was my intention. In 1999 I attributed authorship of the Brief Guide to a person called Joseph, who is described below. -- Dwite Brown, October 28, 2006Joseph is a web persona, that is, he does not have what some in the cyberculture call a meat body, and exists only on the Internet as the author of the Brief Guides. Joseph cannot be baptized in water, and is therefore not a Catholic.
About the picture: The artist describes his picture as an experiment, and does not give it a title. I call it (of course) "The Eye of Eternity." Source: 3D Art by Ethan D. Keiley at Ethan's Place
