Theophelis's father supposedly came from England on the Mayflower in 1620 after their land was confiscated and they settled some where near where Vermont is now located. At some point, the family moved to New York, in what year is unknown.
The family was traced from Vermont to New York to Illinois to Ohio, a Hunt was lost in the War of 1812.
From a letter in 1902, it was said that the family came from NY to Ohio in about 1826. After living there 12 years they came to Illi.
Theophelis's son Joseph Hunt had 4 brothers who moved farther west to Ohio. He did not know where they moved. Joseph married 17 year old Lydia Davenport in 1811 and started with her in a cart to Ohio to find his brothers, Enoch, Esra, William and Morris. He found them in Ohio after 40 years.
Joseph Hunt's son Curtis Nathaniel Hunt (1832-1898) married Martha Jane Toler and they
moved to California and lived there during the gold rush. Hunter - Jean - Pierre Jean married Francoise Favreau bet. 1671-1672 in LaRochelle, Aunis, France.
