Hi Michael!
We bought your book many years ago when Sam was just a toddler. You
wrote a note of encouragement, and your Mom also helped me to think
of ways for Sam to make art.
He wanted me to show you his art work (he is here, but he can't type
so well yet). We use your method of seeing shapes in animals and
things, and Sam makes the marks on his paper in imitation (but in his
own way) of me, his Mom. He draws mostly in permanent marker, and
then adds color using watercolor.
This year we invested in better quality paints and paper.
Sams wanted to say this to you:
Hello, I Sam. I 11 years old. LOVE art so much. So much.
-Sam
(Sam's Mom)

The younger boys made pictures with colored shapes of paper.
Rusty made a crayon fish with rectangles and triangles.
Michael was thrilled to receive photographs of the boys and copies of their artwork.
He enjoys working hard to write a different letter to each child who receives his
book. He prints very slowly and he draws the animals carefully. Teaching
in this simple manner has been a very positive experience for Michael. He
is very proud.
